One of the many Gentian I grow in my garden. Could have removed that tiny hole to the LH side, then decided it is reality! This image was taken with my older Panasonic back in Autumn 2011. Unfortunately though they are all in bloom again this year, you need some sunshine to get them to open. and when we had that recently, I was far too busy trying to sort other work in the garden.

A beautiful blue against that lovely natural backdrop of turning leaves. Lovely detail to the centre of the flower too.

Such beautiful flowers which we have never managed to grow successfully, Ann: a lovely shop of this prettily marked variety.

A rather beautiful composition, the geometric shapes and form of the flower and surrounding plants certainly make for a rather pleasing photograph.

Didn't even see the hole to start with Smile. A wonderful gentian blue Grin. I tried growing these a couple of times... and failed, and this is what I'm missing.

I love gentians, Ann, and they were my late mother's favourite alpine, too. Such a wonderful rich colour, and beautifully decorated inside the petals. Carol
