I have always loved the colour of leaves in the spring. There is a certain quality to the greens that evokes a wonderful sense of new life, and for some time I have been trying to convey this through an image that didn't rely on golden light.
A trip to the Lakes this spring, and a rainy day gave me the chance to further explore this idea. I spent quite some time looking at the stump and decided that with the right balance all the elements were there. I hope that this shows through In my image.

I'm not expecting many votes, but any comments or discussion would be great.

Well for my tastes it's nice to see a realistically coloured landscape and on my calibrated monitor thats just how it looks, detailed and natural, I also like the mist on the mountain tops. Good detail in the trunk too. All in all excellent.

regards

Bill

The first thing I noticed about your shot was the colours in the trees, then I read your narrative.....I have to agree, there is something so special about the yellows and greens in the first two or three weeks after the buds open in spring.
This is a lovely composition using by contrast the dead stump in the f/g and with the backdrop of the darker mountainside, you have a lovely image. I see no reason why it should not do well....it ought to.
Ronnie.
