A week ago I bought a fern in a hanging basket purely for the foliage. There were no signs of flowers, and I did not expect any. So today I was very surprised to see loads of buds had appeared that were opening into these delicate little blooms. Am very pleased with this purchase.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Jackie

The first real flower I've seen on a fern. Ours carry their pollen under the leaves like the powder on fools of cap, bout 3-5 on each leaf
...
I might have been tempted to enhance the contrast and detail a bit.

My wife loves these hanging baskets Jackie, and she always asks me to take some shots of them.
I always end up with no flowers, but all the little rusty bits on the chains !!
A soft and gentle one here.
But my wife is never so soft and gentle when she sees the pics of her hanging baskets !!

A nice image but your light is very flat.
Ask someone to hold a piece of paper or polystyrene to one side to add a little light .
Move it around till you get the light you want.
This will give it more definition /depth

Hope this helps

This is a first for me too, never having seen a fern flowering, and you have made a fine job of capturing the 'event', Jackie, making good use of limited DOF from your wide open aperture setting.
