I waited a while for this shot. The Swallows must have been travelling well over 30 mph in some cases.

I hope that you like this shot and all comments and criticisms are welcome.

Considering the speed that these beasties fly at, this is amazing.

Im glad I open this shot, - didnt look like much in the thumbnail, but it is a lovely shot, and very aptly titled.

The only thing I can think of is to crop it a little tighter as in the mod, - but of course it loses a little due to compression, so I prefer it as is.

regards

Willie

Thank you for your comments. I quite like the crop so I may do something similar to that. I am very pleased that you like this shot.

Really not an easy shot to get ! I agree that a tighter crop would have been brilliant.

I think we have all seen how fast swallows fly, Matt, and I am therefore extremely impressed with this capture. I also like the way the bird is within the darker area of the background, and where you have placed it in the frame.
I noticed that your last two uploads don't bear the Junior flag, so am wondering if you no longer qualify for this category? I do, however, feel even more impressed, considering your age.
Pamela.

Thank you Alandyv8 and Pamela. I am not sure if I am still in the junior section... I am 16 and I don't post deliberately into the junior section so I am not sure about that.

Matt,

Very impressive to capture this, looks like a toboggan rider in the olympics to me. What I find odd is why did you call it Matthew Taylor, seems a strange name for a bird? GrinGrinGrin

Nice image, but I would like the tighter crop, and no logo, which is bigger than the bird. This is extremely difficult to achieve, and you have done well.

Thank you Dave and Paul. After reading some articles in a photography magazine about copyright laws, I was trying to make sure that no one would 'nick' it...
