A plane on its way to London City Airport flies over More London
I've seen these buildings used in similar shots. Love the use of the plane, which gives a great focal point.
Superb abstract shot. Deep
A wonderful piece of photography
outstanding derek if i had not given out my ua award this week this would have got it.
Super Abstract, really like this
Excellent, Derek. Such strong shapes with the plane at the focal point. Pre-conceived, or spotted at the scene?? I spent ages looking up under the Shard a few weeks ago, but a plane never arrived .
Brilliant composition, Derek. Now how long did you have to wait lying on your back or with neck craned to get that plane flying over? Congratulations!
Thank you Steve, Deep, Nathan, and Rick.

I have done a couple of recce's with a compact before going up there with the DSLR, so I had good idea of what the composition would look like . The planes were a surprise though and something that I reacted to in the moment. Saying that this was not the first frame I took. the planes were flying over at approximately 1 minute intervals and I was there for over an hour. Sometimes they flew through the gaps and I still missed them. This was my favourite from about 25 'successful' shots with planes in different positions.

I dont have a right angle viewfinder attachment which would have made using the tripod possible so I took the shots hand held using live view on the screen. My neck and arms were definitely feeling the strain after an hour Alun.
Nicely seen and composed. Great stuff, Derek.
Striking and dramatic - fantastic capture.
Yes very well composed and well spotted opportunity
Nice one Derek, this has photo of the week written all over it for composition alone!!
Thank you Julian, Phil and Rob. Especially big thank you to Tim for the UA. Cheers.
A superb image Derek - well researched and taken! I love it, especially the reflection of the plane. It all works so well. Favourited so that I can look back at it.
Brilliant work Derek!! Congrats on the EC too
Thank you to Ann and Roger for your kind words and to Pete for the EC. Very much appreciated.
Superb, love it
Really like this image Derek, well deserving of the EC.
A striking architectural shot Derek, your composition and dramatic angle really works well with sharp lines of the buildings, the plane......well it just makes the shot for me with the reflection as well, patience very well rewarded I think.
Spectacular. 1st Class
Thank you for you comments Jeremy and Jack.
A big thank you to Paul Holloway and Paul Forgham for your comments and your UA's. Much appreciated.
Striking image - great composition - love the tones.
WoW Derek, what a brilliant angle for this one and perfectly timed for the plane, the reflection makes it for me! Have to say I would love it even without the plane! My congrat's for your awards and please accept another one
Many thanks for the UA Sarah. Its much appreciated.
I'm a bit late Derek - but this has to have my UA which wasn't available yesterday at the time of voting! Just love this!
Derek - that is just brilliant. Would have been good without the plane but the timing and positioning of that make it just superb. Outstanding
Thank you Ann and Jason.
Big, big thanks to Ann and Paul for their UA. Really great to receive.
Cracking shot, sir. The kind of image I'd have been very happy to have taken myself.
