I was first drawn to this shot by the reflections in the water and also on the wall. I liked the balance between the real view and light cast with the reflected view and light castwhich is then tipped by the secondary reflection from the water on the side wall.
i use spot metering to ensure the view through the porthole remained at roughly the correct exposure and made the interior dark.

Is it this one, Eric?
I think you have captured something quite special here, with the rippled reflection and secondary reflection on the inner wall. It's also interesting that the reflection is so unlike the scene in the hole, as if it's just the sky within it, which it may well be. The reflection at the top is like a planet in space, again completely different. In fact there is something outer-space-like about the whole thing.
My first thought was that it may look better mirrored, so I did that in my first modification. Now I'm not too sure.
In my second modification, I simply adjusted levels to darken the background, which removed the halo around the wall reflection, making it look more like an asteroid, and I quite like the way this adjustment has helped concentrate on the 3 main elements.

PS: I've just found the other pictures in your portfolio, and realise now that it is the one I found on the internet.
This is a fine well seen image, very well executed. Whilst the reflected water on the wall looks good, it is the one piece of the composition that looks detached. If you mask it off, does the image look evenbetter? Not sure, but it might, so two versions for you. One with and one without.
