This shot is for my Halloween collection. I deliberately took this shot at a low angle in order to capture the colour, shapes and texture of the dead leaves. The light is provided by a small outdoor garden light, which has produced a great orange cast over the scene and enhanced the natural orange colours of the pumpkin and leaves. It has also provided a softer more natural colour in the highlights. I particularly like the way that the caved features of the jack ‘o’ Lantern have a nice contrast between the highlights of the edges of the eye sockets and the dark shadows of the deeper inside. This, I think also adds to the depth of this photo.
