Black and white was the right choice for this shot, it gives the lion a sense of power and brings out the detail

I agree with you Dave regarding the harsh lighting.The shot was taken in bright sunlight at about midday as you can see by the flat lighting and lack of modling lighting.Was not much i could do about the lighting.But the oppertunity to shoot was there as time was limited.The shot is much more harsh in colour hence the B&W rendition as it improves the shot to some degree
