A superb Green Finch, a great pose and the colour is excellent.
Steve.
Thanks everyone for taking time to view, so much appreciated,
Geoff.
Nicely perched square on and showing more interest with the berries Geoff. One thing I have to ask is I am seeing a very slight dark shadow around the top of the bird, did you use the blur tool to run round the bird at the final part of processing or it could be my laptop screen
Honest answers on a postcard ![]()

No need for the blur tool, and minimal sharpening used here so there is no halo cover up if that's what you're thinking, also there is no visible noise at ISO 400 with the D300.
It's the darker colour of foliage and it runs over the head and partly down the back, notice that it graduates slowly from just under the beak and forms an irregular pattern, it also gets larger as it gets nearer to the perch, that's just how the light was when the shot was taken. I have several shots taken in burst mode and they all have the same pattern, with the bird higher up the perch the dark patch is not visible at all, I wouldn't have put it up if processing had caused it and surprised you even mentioned it.
Geoff.
A stunning image and supurb detail Geoff.Well done..Lin
Hi all. just put V2 up to which is the original tiff file showing the dark shadow referred to earlier and before it was cropped.
Geoff
your greenfinch is a cracker, the berries complement his colours. Bird photography at its best.
A fine shot Geoff, I like the perch you've captured him on
