Hi,

I think the resulting image has clearer focus on the background rather than the shoe. I also think that the amount of colours is a bit too much and I would advise (but that is personal taste) to convert it in black and white. I would also suggest that for your purpose a frame, shooting the child from the back, including both legs and excluding its upper torso would be a better idea.

Hi, thanks Pablo! I was trying to get the camera to focus on the shoe alright but to no avail yet!

You've chosen a very wide aperture so that's a start. The camera sees more to focus on with the wheel rather than the shoe, so you need to persuade it otherwise. This can be either by setting the autofocus mode to spot-focus and pre-focussing on the shoe yourself. Or, more adventurous, setto manual focus - but that'smaybe a bit over the top, and with a young child as the subject you've probably enough to be concentrating on.

I like the concept, but compositionally i would have preferred it a bit crisper by just including both of the wheels equally - the crop as it is is just a bit jarring.

Nicely conceived, you just need to study your manual and play a bit more might give you more time to play with!

Stephenwith the camera settings - though for this kind of practice a more static subject
