Heather

HeatherI'm a bit fussy with attention to detail with portraits and with this one, the makeup is a slightly slap dash so to speak. It looks as though the eyeshadow is running down into the eye creases. I feel that the crop is too severe, I want more space under her chin. More importantly, I feel as though the image is lacking in emotion. I'm not engaging with your sitter. It just feels like a study rather than a portrait - if that makes sense. Technically, there's nothing wrong to my eye (although I'm not keen on the heavy background) I guess I'm trying to say in my awkward way that you have a good model here and I'd like to see a more natural aproach
(I'm also a bit flash light phobic so that's probably influenced my opinion)
