Taken last week at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Colwyn Bay. Our elder granddaughter wanted to pay a return visit whilst she was staying with us at our holiday home in Wales.

I would have preferred a blue sky behind and may even try an imported one although I do feel the existing doesn't look too bad.

It looks fine Frank. The light on the bird suggests a dull day anyway, and placing a better sky might not be a good idea.

You can crop out a chunk of sky anyway, - did so in the mod, with a little brighter bird.

regards

Willie

Nice mod Willie, thanks for that. Strangely before I uploaded it to Alamy I did brighten it but didn't crop in order to maintain size. Now I must brighten up my copy.

I think you can lose most of the boring sky in the cropping. The rest looks fine to me.
The bird looks like it's sharing a joke...very conspiratorial!
I'd like to think you taught it some very rude words.....

Frank,

That's a nice clear, sharp Mackaw. It's eye is nice and bright and the colours are great. However, that blurred horizon line is killing me even in Willie's mod but I can't figure out how the horizon could be crooked if the perch is straight???

If it were my shot I would darken that sky a touch and get rid of those coloured blobs at the bottom left and then all will be good.

It is not a horizon, maybe a building roof line, I can't really remember Dave sorry.
