I had been over in Liverpool for lunch and took a few pics of the docks over there and on the way home sitting in the station I just had this idea.
The station Liverpool James Street (underground station) looked dingy and uncared for so I took this pic on the spur of the moment after a quick raise of my ISO.
Not having done much B&W for a while I wondered what you would make of it. Given the dark underground I had to use max aperture to achieve a shutter speed of 1/25 sec in the hope that it was enough wfor hand holding.

Really good Frank, a good example of a (sub)urban street candid.
I think the mono is good, - perhaps just a little blacker with the blacks, - and on the rhs theres a bit sticking into the frame I would crop out. Noise looks decent, and perhaps a slight bit of additional sharpening, - see mod.
Good work, - I know this is outside your zone which makes it even better. So do some more!
regards
Willie
I like the picture of the man, his posture, and the details of the station. I am puzzled about the relation of him to the poem - if there isn't one, I would crop it square and leave the poster out, if there is, I would probably give people like me more of a clue in the title! Like Willie, I would prefer blacker blacks.
goodness me , you have no idea how much that looks like me from the back.
it isnt me.
i like the relationship of the staircase and the sign / 54 marker with the figure though i think he may be better smaller in frame. im not sure about the white highlight top right frame and although grainy images are hard to pump up, you might try the various presets in photoshop plug in silver efex pro and im pretty sure you could boost some contrast without blowing things, done on a layer you could pull back the whites with layer mask and paint brush leaving the blacks darker.
good grab shot
Phil
Quote: Well capture Frank. Grafitti at Station in England ... wow... i guess bad things happen everywhere not only in indonesia. ![]()
To be fair, the station generally is in good condition, I selected a section that wasn't nor perhaps is it likely to be soon. Most of it has been relined with a new ceiling and seats etc (Where this pic was taken from) new ticket barriers etc but you are correct, the unupdated (if there is such a word) sections area disgrace. This is why I selected it.
Thanks for comments everybody and Willie for your modified image.
