It's a striking composition, the symmetry of the sun and birds is really great. It does look a little soft in the focus department though. Perhaps some USM after re-sizing would sort this out.

like this - good comp - is it an extreme crop? a sharper silhouette of tthe birds would be more effective. very intersting though.

Yes it has a lot going for it.
Lacks sharpness but this as said can be enhanced with USM (unsharp masking)that Simon has mentioned.
Any shot that is blurred to a degree will not be put right by any method though. High shutter speed and some kind of support is beneficial, even the way you hold the camera will make a difference.
Good sense of design in the composition. Well done.
