Woollen Warmth by NDODS

Woollen Warmth

The very Britain that I love, neither paradise nor hell, but a good overall compromise after all ... Smile

Soul Portrait by Francois Lepinay

Soul Portrait

Alan, it is possible. Although from the pictures on display at Saigon war museum on the effect of chemical warfare on new born, i would say that this man would be among the lucky ones. When you visit that museum, you realise what the American army did here is beyond belief, and none of those war crimes and responsible people were punished or even procecuted ever. There is no limit to what the US can be doin the name of its interest and "freedom".

On the Wind...

This dark band makes the compositional originality of the picture, and the bird, a cherry on the cake Smile

Fishermen by Francois Lepinay

Thanks mike. Your appreciated comment reinforce a thought I had many years ago. Photography, for me, is that of being a true reflexion of life over that of being a fully controlled art form !

They very often use the helmet as a hat, when they have a motorbike. And almost everyone has one (instead of a car, still relatively rare)

French Alley

Great lighting. Artificial i guess, but cleverly done to look natural an credible (unlike all those photoshop freak photographers who seem to eat LSD for breakfast) GrinGrin

Drawing Class

Thanks Nathan. Not my very best picture, but it gives the idea. In the museum, interesting to read the descriptions. The South Vietnam army is always referred to as the "army from the Saigon puppet government " (quote) !!

Gent, Belgium by brikaer

Gent, Belgium

I agree with all what is said, and in particular there is plenty of action. But it is unclear action, meaningless in fact. Extrapolating that lack of clarity into "mystery" is a bit far fetch, as in your photographic life , you will find more interesting mysterious scenes or situations than this one. Personally, when i take a picture like that that makes me wonder so much if it is good or if it is bad, it is usually bad, better drop it, and start roaming the streets all over again Smile

Sun Tourism by Francois Lepinay

Sun Tourism

Yes Bill, I think the russians are visually interesting, especially the ordinary ones (as opposed to the rich ones). like in Nha Trang. Example : big mother dressed like in conventional fifties style, and in front of her, half naked 16 years old lolita daughter. There is still this generation gap , weheas in the west, the mummies try to look like teenage daughters !
