Happy New Year from a Special Coastal Town

Happy New Year to everyone!

It has certainly been a very exciting one for me - my boyfriend proposed last weekend in St Andrews, where we met seven years ago and studied at university. It was a wonderful surprise and (for those of you familiar with the town) happened at the top of St Rule's tower in the grounds of the ruined cathedral, with splendid views over the whole town and out towards the sea. Of course I said yes and I have a very sparkly ring! I uploaded a photo last year with the tower on here:

Both that photo and this one of the pier near East Sands beach were taken during a brief visit to St Andrews in July as I had been asked to provide images for a book - Hamish McHamish, which tells the story of a local cat who has become quite a celebrity.
