The G10 was balanced on my knee, I just watched people passing and pressed the shutter release with my thumb. The light was bright but the gale was bitter, though your archtypical Geordie trudged on as ever. I had to give up after about a minute and go for a coffee as the five layers I wore were not up to keeping me warm. After 42 years living "up here" I'm not a real Geordie yet.
Yes, I'd have liked the big lad a yard to the right, to contrast a flat-pack with a one-pack, but somebody walked in between us. That's what happens in the street.
I am very busy with exam invigilation etc for the next week but will drop in when I can.

Barry, V5 is my favourite too. I'm just annoyed that Bill thought of this first. ![]()

Great candids
With that backdrop all do work
But V1 for me ...
How I would have enjoyed being there!! Great captures, all so different!
Carol
Excellent series of images Bill, V5 very definitely shows the wind you were suffering !!! superb candid's.

Lovely set of people-watching images. My favorite of them is v3 - just fancy the way the three pedestrians are spread evenly in the frame.
Anne
Great set Bill, but V1 for me, it just HAS to be that couple ![]()

Shapes 'n shapes... well seen as ever Bill, great one again!

A splendid set of street scenes Bill, you've depicted ordinary everyday life so well here. I like the different shapes and sizes of the people passing by, they are so much more interesting than the models on the billboard. For some reason these remind me of the Gok Wan fashion program he has on Channel 4 where everyday people get a makeover
Looks like you had some great fun there. The bloke in V1 is obviously a fashion icon. The last one for me is the best with the persons all in a hurry.
Tom.
v5 for me - like the head down and diagonal lines of the lady on the left- could well crop from the right and produce another image here carrying through the diagonal she started
