This has a somewhat otherworldly look about it -- maybe its the unusual color palette. Sharpest focus pulls us right into your point of interest -- with background falling ever so slightly out of focus to complete the isolation of your main subject.
A remarkable shot.

This is an amazing photo. I LOVE the light hitting the splash.

Lowery Beach

Ron, I really like this shot. One seldom sees beach-goers photographed from this perspective. Your creativity just taught me a lesson about having a fresh perspective on a tired and true subject.
Nicely done.

Two wonderful shots, Jenn but V1 is perfect.

Brush Bath

Glad you stopped the bird from making a dreadful mistake. I do like this shot -- nice juxtaposition of color vs. the drab tones of bucket and fence. I like the gritty detail as well.

This cracked me up. Thanks for adding some levity to my morning. I needed that.

Half Grown Up!

Jenn, I will only just start to explain why this is an UA worthy shot:

First -- pin sharp. We know robins get impatient posing for too long but you nailed the focus perfectly.
Second -- once again, you have applied your magic DOF formula. Foreground branch and background grass are just enough oof to isolate the bird but clear enough to let us know what we are seeing.
Third -- a nice soft light illuminating the bird and creating a nice glow in the pine boughs and the dried vines (?) in the lower right corner of the shot.
PS Did I mention that I really like this shot. Smile

Very nice composition and great detail.
PS Love the Deep Purple reference.

Bob, this has everything going for it. First -- as a candid portrait, it is excellent. You have great lighting and sharp detail throughout. I also like your frame-filling composition.
I also like your commentary -- putting this photo in perspective of the event.

Just read your narrative. Wow -- what an experience. And, through it all, you kept shooting. What a trooper.

Three very interesting treatments of the scene. The inclusion of the people gives a nice sense of perspective.

You've really captured the rugged life these people live.

Nicely spotted shadow shot, Jenn.

A great shot that brings back wonderful memories. Sue and I LOVED the night market at Chiangmai.

Take care. I look forward to more of your art.
PS -- You are correct -- it is a latte.

I agree with Barry. Just start putting stuff up here -- one shot at a time. You do have a good eye.

Is that a self portait or did a friend (or your daughter) shoot that one? -=Walter

Anne, one amazing aspect of your portfolio is that, even though the majority of your postings are your incredible portraits, your seascapes are equally as gorgeous. This is an excellent PF. -=Walter
