I spent yesterday in the studio watching as my model was transformed into something from another planet(amazing what you can do with a make up artist and blue glitter) She reminded me of Star trek from years ago when Kirk would have an alien love interest in each episode. We didnt know how things would turn out,how it would photograph etc and it proved to be tricky to light using conventional set ups. This was the last set up I tried before we ran out of time, two lights fired into the background and filled using poly boards to produce the even low contrast effect and to make sure that the eyes didnt have obvious catchlights from softboxes.
