A big remote mountain between Loch Mullardoch and Loch Monar.
Photographed from Glen Strathfarrar, a privately owned glen with limited vehicle access.
Beautiful, compressed landscape with your usual sense of compositional balance shining through as does the light picking out the detail on the slopes. Outstanding image. No UA available at the mo but I have the feeling that this will have no shortage of admirers.
Simply stunning John.
Awesome scenery John,
Beautiful light and comp John
Awesome landscape shot!
What a dramatic and majestic beauty is this !! Excellent photo !!
As Alun says, lots of depth in this thanks to the layering. I think the mid and background areas are sublime and I would have been tempted to exclude the loch, which I am unsure adds much, focusing instead on the area behind it where the colour and contrast is. The silhouetted pine is a very effective part which helps draw your eye across the water and gives a lot of depth.

Thanks for the sentiments Alun but hardly anyone looks at my images, do well if I get 30 unique views, which of course though is fine.

I thought about this as well Al. The loch would have been better frozen over with a bit of colour reflection but it wasn't to be. I included it though because it is integral to the location I took this from, the tree being linked with the view over the loch. It isn't the best but ....
Wow - the different light on the hills is amazing. Great composition - it looks fairly wild out there!
Gorgeous shot !!!.....that tree is perfectly placed !!!!
Well, I appreciate your images John.
Delicate luminance and intimate understanding of your prey wrt to the time of day.
You'd be great on the mountain rescue team as well

Been and done that.....
Dramatic highlands John, your own personal POV. Congratulations on your inclusion in Landscape POTY ( I remember that ridge perfectly !!!) Good luck next year.
Beautifully composed and very evocative image. Excellent photography.
