I've been practicing with birds in flight again. Whitby is a good place as there are plenty of gulls to practice on, but unfortunately it was packed with people and very hard to get a good vantage point. The result being that I like the detail on the bird landing, but not happy about the background.

A super in-flight shot, this really deserves more votes and comments.
Great in-flight shot, have to agree! Especially the black background and the white dove in front of it
Only thing i would erase (digitally manipulate) is the tail of the bird on the left ![]()
The is nice and sharp with just a touch of movement showing on the tip of the roght wing which I think is just right. What shutter speed did you use?
I think that 'nellabella' is right about the distracting tail of the gull on the left. I would romove it. However the backgound does show the gull in it's right context.
