Just walked in from spending time in a township here named ngombe with a project that helps support grandmothers. This one, Elizabeth, lives in a one room shack literally 2x2 metres and looks after many grandchildren, orphans of aids.

I can only feel guilt and sadness after seeing this photograph and reading its description that we do so little to help. What a subject and what a great shot, your description is heart-Wrenching but her face tells us even more, these caring women are amazing, thank you for submitting this photograph, Adrian

I am South African so I totally understand what you would have seen beyond the lens with this one. What a wonderful portrait telling an incredible story. You are a great photographer and you should consider doing good with your photos, especially ones like this which expose the world to the hardships of AIDS in Africa.

That is a fantastic portrait, full of character detail. Thanks for providing her story as it provides a more complete backdrop.
