This is my first real attempt at a panoramic image - its 9 images stiched together in CS5. Although I used one of the automated processes I still needed to play around a bit as the software struggled with the straight lines of the viaduct!
There are one or two errors I think - the fg is too dominant even though I used my lense at 20mm - probably needed to go up to 50mm and I've left the brightly coloured tents in mid-left - dithered about whether to clone them out but heh they were part of the scene.
I do like the patch of light and blue sky which seems to bring the image together - shame the hills on both sides were covered in mist/low cloud.
Anyway interested in any constructive comments.

A well-captured expansive panorama Geoff. I don't think the fg is too dominant. You have a reasonably high viewpoint so your eye travels over the rocks, and they are shaped to point towards the viaduct so work as a lead in. The hillsides left and right both lead down as well, and because they are cloud/mist covered your eye immediately goes towards the bright spot of sky. The same reason is why I would have cloned out the bright tents and cars.

A lovely, well-constructed, image of one of my favourite haunts.

Dave

Dave has made an excellent comment and basically I agree with his analysis: fine panoramic image, well stitched.
Ronnie.

I who know very little in comparison to both Dave and Ronnie, would tend to agree, however still a very nice image which would look stunning on a boardroom wall.

I love the convergence of the fg and sky on the viaduct in this one, Geoff. I think a centrally positioned viaduct might have worked well in this instance. While I agree with your own crit it's a wonderful shot.
