Taken at The Wick on Skomer Island in West wales UK last June.
These birds fly like bullets so it's very rewarding to get shots like this knowing how difficult it can be.
This one was flying straight past so was at top speed but a combination of panning and a high shutter speed captured it perfectly, and with a full beak too, what more could one ask for Smile

Thanks everyone, especially James for his User Award Smile

Lol Trev, I have literally hundreds of photos from my 3 Skomer trips this year and although I like this one I may have quite a few better ones waiting to be processed, looks like I'll be uploading Puffins for quite some time now that I've started working on them Smile
Tenner's in the post mate Wink

They fly in like miniature Javelin Missiles and it's probably one of the hardest to capture - you have to have eyes in the back of your head as well as the skill to actually get the shot. Purists might wish for both wings on show but this is still top drawer if you ask me.

Thank you for the Guest Editor's Award Keith Smile

Yeah, this bird was banking away from me slightly so I guess the other wing must right behind the near one, a split second either way and part of it would be visible I'm sure but I wasn't worrying about that when I was taking it, all I was concentrating on was keeping the little blighters somewhere in my viewfinder Wink

I've probably got some with both wings visible coming soon no doubt. Smile
