One more tourist attraction of Rhodes are the medieval windmills at the harbor. Once these windmills used to grid the seeds before they delivered to the merchant ships that distributed them in the whole Mediterranean basin. In nowadays the wings of these mills are still running by the wind but they do not produce anything any more.

Many thanks to all for your votes and your comments in my last upload!

Regards,

George

A shame that they are not in use now, George. I remember seeing some on one of the small islands, either Paros or Naxos, that had been converted into living accommodation, and very nice they were, too Smile Carol

These windmills are so characteristic of that part of the Med and make such excellent subjects, George: your image just makes me wish I was there, esp. so as it's been very wet and dreich here today.
Ronnie.
