The Church of St Francis of Assisi was consecrated in 1939 and is the Catholic Cathedral of Rhodes. It is built on the edge of the Old City in the area popularly known as San Francisco. There is a tall bell tower, which has recently been restored, with a spectacular view from the top.
Thank you all for your wishes on my last upload concerning Christmas! Special thank to Jukka (kuvailija) for her valued User Award! All are very much appreciated!

Regards,
George

Wonderful image of this fine statue.
My mother was named Frances but it was spelt the male way Francis on her birth certificate,
so I always think of her when St. Francis's name comes up as she was a very compassionate person too.
