This is the foundation of the Temple of Zeus at 1.200m on Ataviros mountain. There is a story about this temple that it's been saved to this generation orally "from mouth to mouth":

"Once there were a prince from Crete who married a princess from Rhodes and ruled a city state of Rhodes (in my opinion it was "Kamiros" city at the north west side of the island). He was missing his island, Crete, so much that he order a temple committed to Zeus to be built on the highest top of Rhodes in order to be able to see, when he was visiting the temple, the highest top of Crete, "Psiloritis" mountain."

As a matter of fact on the top of Ataviros when the whether is appropriate everybody can sea Crete island. The story is been delivered to me as I wrote it above, you may believe it or not..Smile

Anyway, I would like to thank everybody who took time to look, vote and comment on my last upload! Especially thank to Valery (ValeryAst) for his precious User Award on my upload "Mist scenery".

Regards,
George

Beautiful narrative to go with this image George, thank you.
The ruins look sad, somehow, with bricks lying around.
Your imagery skills are as good as ever though..!
