Taken in Australia - didn't realise these were Aloe Vera flowers till
LynneJoyce included some in her images yesterday. my daughter
did break a leaf of this amazing plant to put some sap on my burnt forearms.
My thanks to all who voted/commented on The Elegant Chair.
Hope you all have a good week.
Kate GrinGrinGrin
Colleen's gardener has informed us that my image is in fact Clivia not Aloe Vera
I've downloaded examples of both - you can see how easy it is to make a mistake in ID.
Lynne hadn't seen my image to ID.

Aloe vera really is a stunning bloom, and you have certainly done it justice with this fine image, Kate. Oh for the days of getting sunburnt to return Smile Carol

It's a special type of Aloe; common plants have leaves and flowers very different to this one! But even so that's a very beautiful flower and a marvelous picture!

I just love this, Kate - talk about inner artists- I think everything has come together all at once.
A well captured, striking plant with a sympathetic ( and very clever) frame. Great stuff, not forgetting the other little tourist. GrinGrinGrin

Completely different to our ladybirds! They aren't spots, they're like funny little v-shapes !!
Presumably it is a ladybird?
It's definitely not a Shag Grin
