One of the many bougainvillea plants growing in Kos - they are so very beautiful with their paper thin flowers and so many variations in colours too! I have added some texture to this image but have also included the original shot as V2 for those who prefer their images "fresh from the SD card"!!

So very Mediterranean, I like V1 best. The flowers are actually the insignificant white things, but each flower is surrounded by 3-6 brightly coloured, papery bracts. We have them inn the Spanish garden but as yet they are failing to thrive.
