We went for a short walk yesterday up to Nose's Point in Seaham, County Durham. This is the view out from the cliffs above the Blast Beach and over the North Sea to Hartlepool in the distance. A short walk you say? Yes .... it was flipping freezing!!!

I hope you are all keeping well and warm ... roll on the Spring!!

Carol

Ps: I was trying out my new Nikon 55-200mm zoom lens on this one!

A lovely view and I'll bet it felt good to get home again.
Blast Beach sounds a strange name.

The name comes from the time when coal was mined under the sea here - my husband actually worked in that mine!!

It does look so cold with all that grey sky and sea, Carol: what my Mum used to call bracing weather.

Seems to me that beach would be living up to its name as there would be a truly icy blast from the North Sea at this time of year! Certainly captured the look of it in this image!

Elena

i used to work on the rigs in the north sea when i was a 20Y/O i know how damn cold it can be and i was always wet because i did all the water deluge protection systems the thought of if it now makes me cringe still my G/F tights came in handy .....love the tanker in the distance has given scale to the capture

A bleak outlook indeed and a sight which I fondly remember, as I once lived in Ryhope many years ago.

If you look far enough out to the North Sea you might see me. And if you think its freezing there you dont wanna be where I am. Nice seascape capture.
