It was my birthday recently and my daughters sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers some of which, incidentally, are still going strong! I thought I'd test out the new camera again to see how it deals with whites and focus. This was the end result. Once again I cannot claim full responsibility as I did have it set on Auto, but I did choose not to have the flash on and just use window light.
V2 ADDED AT MOIRA'S (MRSWOOLYBILL) SUGGESTION
I'm pleased you enjoyed all the Swinton Park images and I do have more, but I'll give them a rest for now (thank goodness I hear you all as one voice!!!).
Take care and thanks for your continued support.

Very attractive, and good use made of natural light.
I think I might be inclined to crop off the lower petals, up to the tongue-shape below the stamens; but I'm not sure...

Looks pretty good to me, Carol, and I normally agree with Moira's crops. I was angling for a 5D MkIII for xmas. No chance of that but I might get the new computer as a second prize ![]()

Version 2 added!
Carol
Yes I do prefer V2, it's more immediate. Thanks for the pm.
Moira
Beautifully sharp Carol and yes I think we're mostly liking the cropped version.
Why can't we see it for ourselves? Even with the crop you've still retained
plenty detail in the petals.
Photographing flowers from a bouquet is a great way of remembering the gift long after the
flowers are gone.

I like your pov very much and the oof lisianthus in the background. I find lilies so difficult to photograph, but you've managed it so well. I do prefer the crop in v2. As Kate says - why is it so difficult to see it ourselves? Love it - and the new camera is working well.
Ann
Lovely selective focus where it matters Carol,
Geoff.
A lovely close-up, Carol, and I'm with Moira - it does work better in V2 ![]()
