A green hairstreak butterfly taken on Wednesday afternoon at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham. This species was hard to spot amongst the green leaves and rarely came down for long from the treetops, so it was a real bonus when it came down to nectar on some hawthorn blossom for a short time.

Well done you......Think were gonna have to get you to invest in a dedicated macro lens for your Dslr though mate, if you're getting this close with that compact, you could be getting some real banging images with a Dslr......Something for your Xmas pressie list I reckon????
