A brown eyed damselfly I spotted resting on a nettle leaf beside the River Severn at Tewkesbury a couple of weeks ago, this is a rare white legged damselfly according to the man in the know, the Big O. I've got another shot of one which I'll upload at a later date. This one was spotted on the Ham which is the meadow near to Tewkesbury Abbey if anyone is interested in trying to snap this species

I knew you'd id it mate, it had crossed my mind that it may be a white legged one but it did not look like the one on the UK Dragonfly and Damselfly site. I'm chuffed to bits that it was a rarity, i've only seen rare ones before at Woorgreens Lake and other locations in the Forest of Dean, apart from that red eyed damselfy I saw on the lake at Riverside park in Gloucester.
goodness me I seem to follow you around Ed I was in Tewkesbury a couple of times this week and today visited the Abbey, we are staying in the Malverns and leave here tomorrow - great picture of the dragon
It was more by luck than anything else Kate, I did not set out to find it, it just happened to land on some nettles when I was walking beside the river
First one I have ever seen Ed, well done mate!
Regards
Trev.
Many thanks for all your comments and clicks, they are much appreciated, Ed
