A Pearl-bordered Fritillary Boloria euphrosyne.
One of the many butterflies to see in several parts of Greece & 100 species in a week, as when this was taken, is possible. And that is without rushing around I must add, tick listing is not for me!
I'll be back on the same mountain where this was taken next June, something to look forward to through the long British winter!
Enjoy your weekends folks and thanks for looking!

A stunning close up of this beautiful butterfly, I love the PoV and the way you've caught the light through the wings. I agree with you about ticklisting, those type of butterfly enthusiasts are as bad as some twitchers and train spotters who do not seem that interested in the species themselves and more bothered about crossing off another name in their notepads!
A beautiful shot Matt, super detail and BG,
Geoff.
To me this is perfect and a shot I aspire too. It's clean sharp, perfect exposure and magazine ready. Respect
