Had a good Sunday out with Chase, Alleycatz, Wooly & Pete in Lincolnshire on a mushroom hunt yestarday. Great company, thanks all.
This is some kind of Coral spot Fungus but which one i dont know. I am sure someone will identify it for me as i cant seem to find anything like it in Roger Phillips mushrooms book.
It was growing on an eaten pine cone and the pine needles are embedded in the fungi. The title, well, i can see a Samurai warrior but thats probably just me! and the lady bug was walking across the moss so i waited until it was on the fungi as an added bonus.

Great close up Glynn ... looks like the little ladybird wasn't feeling well, something she'd eaten ![]()
Jon
Good title there I.G. & lots of patience waiting for the Ladybug to get just into the right position....fabulous herding skills ![]()
Had a great day, plenty of laughs along the way & a plethora of fine 'shrooms.
Nice detail here,colour-wise it may be a tad washed out,I remember the yellows a bit brighter than this tbh.Did you convert to sRGB before uploading? that sometimes is the reason.
The hat...well,enough said really ![]()
