One from last summers jaunt around the Galloway forest. This teeny-tiny caterpillar belongs to the Lime-Speck Pug Moth (Eupithecia centaureata) and is about 1 to 2cm in length.
Well done to whoever it was that spotted it, think it may have been Fee (FeePhoto) but I'm sure Chris (Assyrian) will keep me right!!

You so have to get e2 membership as this has lost a lot of sharpness in upload.
Just a gentle reminder - it was me who spotted this thing, then had to stand 1.5m away with the 300mm lens before giving up trying to hold it steady and wishing the tripod wasn't still lying in the back of the car so far away!!
We did try krimage's suggestion of putting the whole thing in shadow to combat the dappled light but it just looked dull and lifeless - I much prefer the natural capture you went for - well done!
