This was taken back in June, in a field, next-door to the Scottish Ornithologists' Club building in Aberlady.

As you can see, the weather was closing in, but still required a ND grad (120) because of the burn out horizon (where the good weather was!).

Used a tripod to gain some height, the poppies were a little past their, but still couldn't get enough in the foreground, without losing depth. Tsk, never happy!

ISO 100, 1/15th sec, f/32

A lovely shot, I like the way the poppies at the back start to merge and the field looks totally red. I tried to take a similar shot in the summer but wasnt at all happy with any of them and they went the way of the recycle bin Also like the contrast of the dark sky and the lightness of teh poppies at the front :o)

I drove past this field earlier in the summer and now realise I should have stopped to take a pic. Well captured.

I think it's time to let the truth be known. This is actually a poppy field in Afghanistan with clever Photoshopping to add in the SOC HQ.

Actually it's a great pic and I'm the proud owner of a signed copy. (had to sign it myself but you can't have everything).

Nice!!

One of my favourite flowers and you have captured them beautifully, love the summery feel of the poppies against the brooding sky as the house seperates them
