Spotted this little yellow flower, on some marshy ground, during one of our trips to Glen Trool.

I liked the way the dew caught the light, but wasn't sure about the background (it was a bit too distracting) so played around a little.

Maybe upload the original, sometime.

ISO 800 (hence the grain), f/5.00, 1/800sec

Camera:Canon EOS 350D
Lens:Hughs macro, again

PS, can you spot the spaniel? Assyrian pointed it out to me and now I see it everytime!!!

Maybe should have titled it "spot the dog!" instead.

Damn that Assyrian - I loved this shot and now all I can see is that spaniel!!!! Thanks for the reminder. Could have been worse - it could have been a poodle!!!

Looks good with the dew.......................but crop it - there is too much empty space

But if he cropped it, you might not see the spaniel!! Honestly, Roy, don't you know anything about photography???!!!

no crop - save the spaniel! This composition is simple and beautiful Martin - well done!

Agree with Kate - don't want to lose the dog (I think I can see it!). Even if the dog is not visible I think the framing is spot on! The contrast between the colour and the monochrome works very well.

Spaniel Liberation Front here - we demand no cropping. Spaniels have rights!
