Today 15th September is commemorated as Battle of Britain Day, when on this day 72 years ago in 1940 the largest air battle during the Battle of Britain took place resulting in invasion plans by axis forces being withdrawn.
Whereby the pilots of these aircraft are glamorised in books and films, tribute must be given to the ground crews who kept these aircraft flying during this period of our history.
Todays image is of a Hawker Hurricane of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby being serviced by a member of the ground crew. Converted to mono to reflect a scene which would have been familiar on RAF airfields during WW2.

Yes mono seems right for this - or even sepia could work - well captured and composed ![]()
