I am just trying to be a bit ''arty'' with the inclusion of the reflection in the water. However,I will not be making a habit of showing my ''arty'' side.I still do not feel the need to rush out and buy a Lensbaby just yet !!
Great shot! Is this another rust battle coming on with saltireblue!
Hey, I really, really like this. Very cool image. Like looking over the edge and into the ocean and finding a lost city. Very mysterious feeling in it. To me anyway Mick................Sandy
I knew this was one of yours as soon as i saw the thumbnail!
I like this it brings together the two kinds of subjects you photograph so well, the rust and textures and the buildings in the reflection
Great shot Mick
Very nicely composed, Mick, with the reflections in the b/g. As always your main subject is so crisp and well defined.
Quite an unsettling picture Mick. I get the feeling of being too near the edge and the water being a long way down. Only for a moment though. It's a great shot, with the combination of rust and reflections. Very well seen.
Cracking shot Mick, great textures and tones and I do like the reflections.
arty rust mick brilliant detail cracking reflections stunning grot
Arty or whatever,
I love this one-- Very impressive and I am so jealous!
The rusty parts are nice, too!
Quote: Great shot! Is this another rust battle coming on with saltireblue!
Bring it on Malc !!
How close to the edge can you get ?
This is a bottler Mike - love it ...Bill
Whatever next ? A floppy hat, bunch of brushes and an easel??? ~ Vincent Van Mick ?
A cracker mate
Isn't it wonderful how a bit of sunshine and a good choice of angle can turn a mucky puddle into a gleaming mirror? A polarizer would have killed the image dead by removing the reflection. Wise example of artistic abstinence, Mick. Like the ring too. More substantial than your recent rust samples. Presumably it is used to anchor the reflected buildings in a high wind. I agree with you about Lensbabies, by the way. Bill and Moira let me play with theirs, but they don't really appeal to me (Lensbabies, that is, not Bill and Moira).
Nice composition Mick.Good work.
Lensbaby do not make a fitting for a G11, Mick, so I'm glad you haven't wasted your cash.
Though they do make one to fit a D40
Love the perspective here, as well as the combined subject matter. I just hope nobody jumped. . .
Excellent, I like the reflections.
Superb Mick! I'm loving this glimpse at your arty side, you should let it out more often!! Seriously it a cracking image, great gritty rust and those super reflections, you know I'm a sucker for a reflection. The colour work so well too. Congrats on the UA!
Knew this would be yours but the reflection was a bit of a shock - it looks as though you are on a high precipice, quite dizzying. Rust and dreams. Love it.
Excellent Mick, great reflection,
get you ,arty farty ,you will be showing us your feminine side next ,but under the adult section please.Good shot though ,spot on and works well.
Wow! A stunner Mick! Lovely reflections and composition, with a tad of rust thrown in!!
'Excellent & succinct image rendering'>...LEx
Love how you have composed this Mick.
A superbly composed shot comprising the 3R's, rust, reflections and rings.
Keep at it Mick. This is as good as anything we see on this site and as they are free have an RC on me.
Ha ha, nice work Mr Arty Mick and if you want to show a bit more of your 'Arty' side, just give us a ring.
Arty?? Mick that is blooming wonderful and another award to boot!
Love the reflections with the usual rust combination, this should set them off at the camera club..go on another beer eh?
(loved my comments you gave..thanks)
Fantastic composition. This is photographic art in the real sense of the word!
ooo arty farty!!! Nice one Mick
LOL! My husband saved us a pile of monney by asking me to return his books-- also wanted to tell you that the marina was not open -- no one is boating these days--- --maybe may 1-- I get there one day but not a boat in sight! Baseball field was also closed!
I am impressed with your arty side, it lifts the image into another dimension, and I am sure it would emerge again if you really tried!
Good combination of the old and the new Mike.
The rust combined with the reflections is very arty Mick, masterstroke..
A really intriguing shot
what a great pov, well seen and captured and of course great rust....
I like this very much Mick
Well composed shot
A good set of contrasts. The hard, steel with the soft reflections, the old & rusty with the new & clean.
You should indulge your arty side more often Mick.
Well, I love this arty side of yours Mick - art and rust - the perfect combination I would have thought. This is seriously good - well thought through, great comp and great photography.
and it would fit the reality? theme too!
