Not a regular visitor to my place - I think it's a "Scaly-breasted Lorikeet".

Took this shot, then tried to move around for a profile shot, but he decamped, giving me a mouthful as he/she went.

He's beautiful, Bill, and well captured. He doesn't seem to have the markings on his chest that a scaly-reasted lorikeet should have. Were his eyes red? Carol

Yes, a red tinge Carol, more so than appears ion the pic for some reason.

The bird is much prettier than its name. I think Mick is quite wrong by the way and the evidence is clear, grumpy + uncooperative + loud = male!
