Bladk-eyed Susan
Rudbeckia
The famed American Native wildflower that graces roadsides, meadows, gardens and everywhere else. It has been imortalized in many poems, a Tiffany Lampshade, , quilts and more. As it is the state flower of Maryland the flowers are honored at Baltimore's Preakness Stakes with the "Run for the Black-eyed Susans."
Gloriious to see them all at this time of year when most other flowers have finished blooming!

Beautiful image Jenn, absolutely first class.
Hugh
what a beautiful blue backdrop to compliment the little sun!
The single bloom is well positioned in the frame and a lovely background, Jenn.
Dave
Lovely colours like that splash of blue, just gives it a lift showing off the flower well.

The background makes this image for me, it's like a stormy sky in miniature.
This reminds me of my watercolour years. I used to mask the area for a flower, then have fun splashing on wild colours for the background. They would look way over the top - but then paint on a simple flower against them and they would disappear into the distance.

Wonderful shot! Love the bokeh too, so creamy.
Marvelous!
