A female common darter I saw on some bramble bushes at Swelshill Bank near Stroud at the beginning of the month when I visted the site to photograph the Adonis Blue butterflies. Many thanks for all the c&c's and the five user awards on yesterdays upload the "Female Adonis Blue", I was overwhelmed with the response it received, Ed

This insect shows up so nicely against the OOF b/g, Ed, and I too like V 1 the better, perhaps it's just that wee bit crisper, whilst I love the almost head stand pose in V 2.
Ronnie.

Agree with Ronnie Ed. V1 is crisper, V2 is much better than I have got all year.

Trev.

The ones in the park at Weston let me get much closer, unfortunately the stony paths and walls did not make great backgrounds and made wing detail difficult to capture. The ones at Swelshill did not settle for long as it was a hot day and when they did it was on bramble bushes or high up in trees.
