Hi all, a spider today posing on a Japanese Anemone. Not sure what sort it is so ID would be appreciated

From your photo it looks like it's the seven legged spider I have heard about, nice clear macro like it, if you go on line to safari garden site! they have hundreds of photo's and description in sections, so look under spiders, hope that's a help, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I would say all spiders hatch with 8 legs, there are some funny stories going around on the web but in this case the 8th leg is possibly out of view behind the pink petal on the top left hand side, thanks for your comment though,

A rather remarkable macro photograph depicting this rather gorgeous large looking 'Ant', beautiful natural colours and rather defined detail, superb. This surly take macro photography to the next level.
