The high road by grahamab

The high road

Thanks for the kind comments, matyjasz yes it was about 5 mins before an isolated shower hit us, two ex580ii with pocket wizard ttls
either side of the road, the sun was actually off to the right of the shot but obscured at that time

Resistance is futile.. by grahamab

Resistance is futile..

Thanks for the comments as I mentioned it was purely setting sun nothing more I have used flash later on in the series but this was basically a warm up shot, 1 to warm up the model lol and two just to grab a nice shot in the late evening sunshine Smile I am pretty familiar with using off cam flash with EX580s and pocketwizard ttls, but thanks for the imput.

Beautifully lit and nice expression, liking the tilt adding that subtle extra dimension.

God daughters by grahamab

God daughters

I was stood on an isolated rock with a prime lens on, not able to move forward or backwards, it was more of a snapshot than a controlled set up shot.

Fields of Green by grahamab

Fields of Green

Shazbah, it was very gloomy and overcast, flash was an only option, if you read the description we were looking to shoot a sunset style (as per the forecast) and were dismayed to find it horrible and gloomy and it was only 8pm ! hence the end result with on cam flash, I didnt plan to actually take the flash out of the bag !
Cheers

So Delicate.. by grahamab

So Delicate..

Mike, thanks for the input, however what you dont know is...

Just behind is a road, those are the only poppies within 50 yards, there is no higher angle, the sun is in the wrong place due to the unusual shooting time, to the right is a crappy railway bridge, to the left are some signal boxes and signs, this is the best angle and height I could find to shoot at given the circumstances, in the previous image I cropped to keep out the railway banking and signs, in this I found the most pleasing angle available.
I appreciated your imput, however your comments however well intended, were just not available and that was pretty much the best composition available.
Add into that mix we were under time contraint due to both having commitments to go to after this.

Country Church

Hello there, yes it was using HDR software, I just shot the church to give me a landscape/subject/skyline to practice on, a church seemed to be an ideal subject.

Relax by bricjen

Relax

Lovely gentle pose, nice and relaxed.
I think this may have benefited from the use of a little diffused fill-in flash though just to take away the suns flare effect over her head. Just a thought.

Nice composed though I am enjoying your efforts.
