This is the final Razor image of the one's I've recently posted, again using the Canon MP-E 65mm X1-5 Lens I have. This particular image is probably my favourite and is a stacked composite of 20 separate shots processed using Zerene and then tidied up using PSPX. I just can't my mind up on the either the colour or the Mono, I think they both have their merits and both work well. The wife prefers the colour version so I've gone with that as V1, but any opinions/comment/critique would be most welcome as I'm hoping to use this one for a club competition.

Hedgehog/Fox update
Still lots going on in the garden, with the Foxes being particularly active at night, but were also still seeing hedgehog activity despite the time of year and of course we now have the bird table camera working fairly well during the day. I did see a rather underweight hog the other night and have been trying to catch him to check it's health and weight, but so far he has eluded me Sad
As always the place to go is Ade's Hedgehog and Garden Wildlife Cams

Thanks for stopping by, more conventional moth images tomorrow, but an interesting one all the same, regards to all......Ade

Nice pristine condition here: love the diagonal composition, Ade, and for me it's definitely the coloured version.
I'll show my total ignorance now but say I'm surprised it took 20 shots to get the detail across the subject.......just shows how much I know about thingsSmileWinkSmile.

Thanks Ronnie, no so much across the image, but more front to back. The trouble with magnified images like this is that the DOF falls off very sharply, the stacking method allows you to layer images with a slightly different focus point on top of each other, so that the eventual image is sharp throughout. Had I just used one image, the middle blade of the razor would have been sharp, but the others will have been blurred and completely OOF. A very simplistic explanation and there are other factors to think about, but that's about the upshot of using the stacking method really........

Thanks, Ade: I meant to say front front to back but got sloppy in my description.

V1 for me as the colour adds more drama to the sharp shot, i like the hint of blue on the mid blade too.

I prefer the colour but the close up crop suggests this is an abstract image and as such the mono works better (but bear in mind my track record for picking winners is abysmal!!)

Its the mono for me as my eye is drawn more to the blades which are the focal point of the image. - gary

This is much more appealing than the prior upload Tongue I saw it and ran screaming to the bathroom, got the razors, put in new blades and put the razors themselves in bleach water - what a revelation.

If I didn't know this is a razor I would be thinking some part of a bridge construction!! Brilliant colour.

I eagerly await your next upload Mr O, I just hope it is not one of the following from your bathroom, some toenail clippings, some chest or back hair that you've waxed, a lump of ear wax or a bogey from your nose!Tongue
