A Dunnock (Prunella modularis), also known as Hedge Sparrow, perching on the rusty handle of an old garden roller. After lying low all winter, our resident Dunnocks are suddenly getting very frisky!
Taken 8.6m from subject, F2.8, handheld and in overcast conditions, this is a large crop, as I was trying out a different lens to see what it could do.

Many thanks for your support of yesterdays upload - always very much appreciated Smile

Not bad at all Sylvia - especially with that crop...enjoy the big yellow ball and playing with the new camera glazing Wink

Very fine image of the Dunnock Sylvia. Good challenge to try hand holding for a change.

Great image. The gorgeous bg and the texture of the handle really help your subject stand out.
Well captured.

A superb advert for the new lens and camera combination Sylvia. Excellent setting and background topped with the Dunnock on an exceptional rustic perch.
Next I want to see a Robin and Wren on this, what a challenge but not at the same time Smile

A fine shot of this lovely little dunnock, as Mike has already pointed out such an underrated and unassuming little bird
