We have been down to Hillsborough Park in Sheffield, Yorkshire this evening to see the Olympic torch. The noise was deafening with everyone cheering. I don't know who the lady is holding the torch but her smile says it all. Good luck Team GB

Well done I.G. a great sight to see.
The Torch arrives in Lincoln on Wednesday & leaves on Thursday...the downside of which is that the main roads will be shut & Lincoln will come to a grinding halt !

The ladies name is Barbara Kissman and Barbara's nomination story is below

For over 30 years my mum has supported families living in deprived areas of Nottingham. Mum is always at the forefront of supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged families including mothers, fathers and carers who have been experiencing ill mental health, people suffering from domestic violence, drug and alcohol misuse, and learning disabilities. Her positive impacts range from establishing toddler groups to soup kitchens to advice surgeries for young fathers, as well as fundraising and delivering parenting courses. She has constantly put others before herself and always finds time to make a difference. She has supported many charities and community groups, working in Nottingham's schools, church halls, synagogues and temples across all denominations and social groups. In 2006 she founded the 'All Ours' project for vulnerable and socially excluded adults, establishing weekly evening meetings, serving home cooked food and providing a warm, welcoming and safe environment where people can come in and relax, talk, eat, take part in activities and access relevant information. My mum also continues to volunteer her time to a range of projects that give advice and support to young fathers in Nottingham. I can think of no one more deserving to carry the Olympic Torch which is such a symbol of peace, community and hope.

Just found this one (it's currently featured e2 Photo), like it a lot. I photographed the Torch coming through our town, this captures the feeling of crowds and local pride. Plus a good composition with the entourage, who are brilliant at their job.
