Siskin (Male)

Siskin (Male)Beautiful image but certainly doesn't to be cropped any further, in fact, I'd like to see a little more space at the bottom of the composition to balance the space above the birds head.

Snow Capped

Snow CappedThe warmth in the rocks and structure are wonderful set within a striking composition.

I feel the foreground rocks lead the eye nicely into the ruined building but wonder if the image would be stronger if you could have separated them - the lead in line would still be there but the separate elements would mirror each other and make your beautiful image stronger.

With best wishes,
Mike

Red Deer Stag Portrait

Red Deer Stag PortraitThis works so very well Sylvia.

A brave crop which brings attention to the majesty of the Stag and draws attention to the strength of the creature without all the fuss of the surroundings. Always amazes me how many ways one can photograph a subject and the different emotions those methods evoke.

Superb...

Blackening Waxcap (Hygrocybe nigrescens)What super specimens to find in your lawn Sylvia. Now that new glass could work wonders on these Wink

I find using manual focus while zoomed into the caps enables me to get the depth of field necessary. By moving around within the screen at high mag you can choose the best aperture for each subject. It took a bit of getting used to on the GF1 but works like a dream...worth a try anyway.

Best,
Mike
