Nicely exposed and captured Janet, but unfortunately with so many twigs about it gives a busy feel to it and the eye keeps wandering about the image

Great shot Janet. Its always a bonus to capture the target with a clear and clean BG but I have to say that I personally see no problem with birds shown in their normal habitat. I like this one.

Hi Mossy Oak and Gezina Yes I see what you mean especially the sharp in focus branches they do distract and draw your eyeSmile Maiwand , I do like the natural location but I think because the branches are so sharply in focus that Mossy Oak is right.Wink Really appreciate your comments gives me more to work on and consider.Wink

Some people are so super critical. Think it's a great shot. there are so many 'bird only on a single branch' pics around (and I include myself guilty) that I think a bird in it's natural surroundings rather than coherced into the open , is refreshing and has their place in bird photography. Love it. Paul

Paul thank you for your comments and complements much appreciated. I can see what Mossy Oak and Gezina are saying but it was fun and satisfying to get one actually in such a natural setting.

I think as with all photography it`s down to personal choice and its great to get the feedback and other peoples thoughts on my photographs.
